Frequently asked questions.

How far in advance do we need to book?

I’ve taken bookings as close as three weeks in advance, however I always recommend booking as soon as possible.

Not only does this secure your date for your piece of mind (my calendar constantly changes), but also allows us plenty of time to work together, planning your day and this ultimately helps me to understand and capture the perfect images for you.

How do we know if we’re a good match for each other?

I know choosing your photographer is a huge decision and it’s important that you choose someone who you are comfortable with from the start. It’s therefore important to me that I get to know you and that you get to know me.

So let’s grab a coffee in Starbucks, so you can tell me your story, your ideas and what you have in mind for your big day. Or if Starbucks isn’t your thing, we can have doughnuts over Skype.

You’ll quickly know if we’re a good match.

Do you photograph same sex weddings?

I certainly do.

Why wouldn’t I, as I believe all love is created equal.

Will you tell me how to pose?

I’ll help you from the beginning to the end of your day, directing you and helping you pose, but most of all making sure you’re having fun.

Some people are naturals in front of the lens and others find it helpful to have a bit of encouragement and direction. I always work with you, we’ll mix up the session by switching things around and before long you’ll forget about the lens and lose yourself in front of the camera.

Do we need a pre-wedding session?

I love pre-wedding sessions for a few different reasons:

The session provides you with some memorable photos which can be used on your wedding day. It is also very valuable as a way for you both to get used to being relaxed in front of the camera and for me, as your photographer, to see how you both smile and pose in front of a camera.

Getting you both comfortable in front of the camera is one of the first steps in helping to create fantastically natural photos, but if a pre-wedding session is not something you’re into, no problem!

Can I bring pets to a lifestyle or pre-wedding session?

You sure can! I love pets. We can make these shoots as relaxed and as creative as you like, whether I join you walking the dog, or in the park with your family. This is entirely up to you.

Do you take family and group portraits?

Of course. I truly love these.

How long do we need you on our wedding day?

Every wedding is unique and no two weddings are exactly the same. Therefore I offer wedding collections with flexible hours of coverage, to help fit in everything you would like me to capture on your day.

Wedding fees start with upto 6 hours of continuous coverage, so with this in mind, if we start capturing the bridal party preparations at 10:00 am, the coverage will run up until 4:00 pm. During the wedding consultation and timeline discussions many couples wish to extend their coverage, allowing me to capture and document their special day and stay into the evening.

If you decide on the day that you wish to extend your coverage, I will always try and accommodate you. However please be advised that this is not always possible and a fee of £90 per hour will always be charged.

Do you travel?

Absolutely!

I’ll travel to most places, mainly I cover Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, but if you’re getting married far, far away, drop me a line as I’d love to jump on an airliner and race across the skies to cover your destination wedding.

Depending on your location, the travel rate will be added as an additional cost to your wedding fee.

How do we book and pay?

Where possible, I prefer to meet with my clients, however I know that this is not always possible due to people’s busy lives. Therefore, bookings can be made by phone or email, with deposits being made by PayPal. bank transfer or cash.

I always try to be as flexible as possible and therefore accept monthly payment plans to help clear the remaining balance, or if you prefer, you can pay in a lump sum payment.

All I ask is that the balance is paid, in full, two months before your wedding date.

What do we get in our online Wedding Gallery?

The online Wedding Gallery allows you to view fully processed and edited images. The online gallery will also offer downloadable printable high resolution jpeg images for friends and family members.

Will our photos be edited?

Yes, your photos will be edited to adjust for the correct exposure and colour tones. You will also receive a selection of black and white variations.

Additional editing services are available, but these are charged on a per edit basis.

Can we have the RAW files?

As with all my wedding collections, I do not offer the RAW files. Every image in your wedding collection is carefully edited to correct for colour tones and exposure to create the final overall “look” of your wedding collection. This process takes hours to complete and represents my brand, along with the quality of each delivered wedding collection.

Simply put, I wouldn’t want the images edited in another way that I couldn’t guarantee the quality of. However, each wedding collection comes edited with high resolution JPEG images that you can share and print at home.

How many images will we receive?

The amount of images vary as each wedding is unique and guest sizes vary. The amount of final images greatly depends on the length of the wedding and if I have an associate photographer with me. You will always have a nice variety to choose from, but not nearly enough to overwhelm you.

When will our images be ready?

Portrait sessions take between 3-4 weeks to complete. Weddings require a little more love, so depending on the time of year, final edits can take between 6-12 weeks to complete.

I try to deliver your images ahead of schedule, but quality always comes first.

Do we get printing rights?

Yes, you can print and re-use rights of all the images you receive.

Will you use our images?

I always try use a selection of the images I have taken during your day. These maybe used on my on my blog, online gallery, Facebook page or in my albums.

If you couldn’t find your answer in my FAQ section and have a question you would like answering, then please let me know.
